On my system (Mozilla 1.5, Win 95) none of these versions (0.5.2.056, adblock+) worked, neither did nightly build 0.5.040. Couldn't get a list of blockable items (window was empty and could not be closed), hand-typed filters worked sometimes with 0.5.040.
Searched for previous versions with google and found 0.5.039 which is doing fine on my PC |

Sadly, d2 nightly 39 would have fared alright, in the end. The reason it failed under 1.5 was actually a browser bug -- fixed in the latest versions of the trunk (Firefox 1.6a). Nothing was Adblock's fault.
.
But, since Mozilla.org went ahead, the old code is under development again, even sporting a new trick or two. The latest build (d3 Nightly 40) can block ajax-requests; which means gmail ads are blockable. They show as "ajax / xmlhttprequest" in the blockable-items list. The feature can be disabled, via pref: adblock.ajaxintercept - bool.
.
Nightly 40 will be pushed to AMO, when ready. Development is ongoing.
.
Cheers,

rue, the ajax-request blocking sounds sweet. Would you be willing to divulge features that you are working on or plan to work on for adblock 0.6?
Please... |

Um, then how come I still notice all the bugs listed as being fixed in this thread with the latest trunk build and d2 nightly 39 then? |
