It would be nice if you could add certain sites to a "safelist" and not have adblock block the ads for that particular site. |

Do you prefer to view ads on certain pages and not on others? Or are you experiencing false positives with your filter? _________________ My Firefox Page

To anybody highly anticipating 0.6:
Ages ago there was a speculation that 0.6 would be finally out by August 2004. Missed. 4 months later, in December 2004 I posted an "Is Adblock Dead" thread. There wonko wrote:
"Guest: Good logic, but remember: I'm "The Other Developer." Part of the problem was that I underestimated the amount of work left to do, overestimated the amount of time that rue and I would have to devote to development, and (unlike rue) was willing to sacrifice a small amount of quality and polish for a release a few months earlier than something with more polish. Features tend to be fast, but polish takes testing and thus time.
kstahl is right: Patience is a virtue Wink
I can at least guarantee that it won't be August 2005 until we see 0.6... I hope."
This was supposedly meant to be a joke at that time. Now it's becoming reality.
So be optimistic, the wait was heavy even almost a year ago as well, that date was missed, 8 months passed, still no featurelist/screenshot and those too loud get banned or flamed...
This whole case reminds me to TDS-4, another similar case: TDS-3 is hailed as the one of the best trojan defenders, but it's successor has been in development for SO long that it's very existence is questioned on the official support forums.
A parallel maybe?
(hey enough SA or you'll get your arse kicked!)
OK I know that for free I should be happy to get anything at all, but everyones patience wears off sometimes.

I have a few sites I would like to support bye clicking their ads, and I've got a few false positives (mainly giga-byte.com and cybercity.dk as they seem to call most of their content "banner") |

Would you rather wait for the "whitelist" or try to amend your filterset? If you need help with your filterset, I am sure there are knowledgeble folks here that could help. Provide the url's that you want blocked and those that you don't. _________________ My Firefox Page

I do not recommend blocking "banner" by itself, since many sites use /banner/ for legitimate content. _________________ Filterset.G |

Btw, idbehold wasn't removed because he complained. He was removed because his discernment appeared lacking on the difference between polite dissent and things vulgar. To my knowledge, he's the first and only person we've had to evict. |

OK, thanks Rue.
My hope never dies, and as you care about your forum, that also means you care about Adblock.
Also, I'm happy that you don't ban people solely for their opinions. idbehold was, indeed, well deserving of that kick (I've been reading all the threads leading to the final showdown).
Summary of my opinion:
go Adblock, and all respect to the devs! still, a nightly would be nice (even if Wonko's explanation post somewhere explained why it isn't practical to release ) _________________ "Look at you hacker
