Do you have a URL we can tinker with?

In the mean time, there are a bunch of filters in various locations within the forums that will block the substring 'banner'.. find one, or, even better, write your own...

Hope this helps..

Adblock can block any image. Just add that URL to your filterlist in Tools > Adblock > Preferences.
Code:
http://data.playxp.com/banner/800x120.gif

Adblock can block any and all embedded content. Whether it be a normal image, a background image, a script, flash, java, or anything else. The problem is that neither the context menu, nor clicking the adblock iconand choosing show all will give you the option of adding the background image to your block list. You have to view source on the page, or right click and choose "view background image" to get the url to block. Once you have it, you can right click on any image and choose adblock, then simply replace that url with the one from the background image you wanted to block. (Note: If you choose z"view background image", you can then right click on the image and adblock it.)

Not being able to easily block background images is a major flaw in adblock, and I hope it gets fixed soon.
