Firebird 0.7: blocks only effective on reload of new tabs

So I have a bunch of useful blocks, in particular
*doubleclick*

However, when opening links in new tabs (which is pretty much how I open every link) I still see supposedly blocked images. If I reload page, then the images are correctly suppressed.

Opening links in the same tab has the correct behavior. Subsequently re-opening that link in a new tab has incorrect behavior.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to be obtuse, but what are you suggesting?

That I have an old version that needs to be uninstalled? How do I see which version I have?

As far as I can see, that thread has little to do with tabs and reloads.

I'm sorry if I'm missing something subtle here.

Johan:
The background-tab issue is a very old one. If the Adblock's pref-window doesn't look similar to the one shown here, then yes- you have an older version.
.
And, per that thread, you'll need to manually deinstall.

Rue, thanks for being patient with me.

However, my preferences window looks JUST like that one (well, mine is decorated by Redhat's Bluecurve theme, rather than by XP, but appart from that...)

I'll try to uninstall. Perhaps I'll just resort to the userContent.ccs hack, as that was working fine in mozilla. I had assumed that AdBlock was merely a front end to those settings.

Johan:
Adblock v.4 did modify userContent.css, but for very different reasons.
.
If your window looks exactly like the one pictured, then you're using v.4.
.
Version .4's deinstallation-routine had some flaws: don't use it. Instead, follow the instructions from that thread -- pain, though they be -- and then grab the latest nightly from our Dev. page.
