AdBlock does not show up in my tools menu. I tried to remove the older version so I could install the new one, & AdBlock disappeared from my tools menu after installing the new one. Then it reappeared as the new version, but disappeared again. I tried following the directions to remove the older version, but it was very confusing. I tried looking at the files that were mentioned in the removal instructions, but I didn't see any trace of AdBlock anywhere. I even reinstalled Netscape, but now AdBlock won't install. How do I fix this? HELP!!!!

If you're comfortable playing around with config-files, then this is the thread for you.
.
If not, a new profile will clear everything up.
.
Btw, what's the error you get on install?

I know nothing about config files, & I don't want to mess anything up. When I tried to install the new AdBlock, it basically sais I have to uninstall the old version. But I don't know how to do that because the directions on the website are not good. It's very confusing, & I can't even find what it's telling me to look for. I'd hate to lose my profile information, is there an easy way to fix this problem?

The easiest solution for you is a new profile.
.
But, if you're ready to dig in, this post is what you're looking for.
.
There is no middle-ground, and I'm thinking you'll probably be happier with the new profile.

Well, I'll see what I can do. I don't have most of those files, & I don't see those directories. I'm using netscape 7.1 on windows 2000.

Ok, I removed my profile & installed the new version without any hitches. It's working nicely, & I'm glad it has an uninstall button so I can easily remove it when the next version comes.
