Is it illegal to block advertisements on the Internet? I know from my past experience that products (such as TiVo) have been seriously compromised in the ability to automatically block commercials in TV, and for TV shows commercials are the #1 source of revenue (especially local stations).

Is this not Internet Piracy, depriving webpage authors of their money from advertisements?

hell no. webmasters should have by now found better ways to get revenue, if they don't want their ads blocked then take down your crummy websites and stop wasting money.
