The gray fonts on the AdBlock homepage are too low contrast. Can they be made black (so that I can actually read what is being said)?

Thanks!

This bookmarklet will turn most text black on a white background:

javascript:styles='body, table, td, div { background-color: white ! important; background-image:none ! important; color: black ! important; }'; newSS = document.createElement('link'); newSS.rel = 'stylesheet'; newSS.href = 'data:text/css,' + escape(styles); document.documentElement.childNodes[0].appendChild(newSS); void 0

If you need help with using bookmarklets, try a Google search.

It is increasingly apparent that the Adblock folks just don't care about whether or not visitors find the grey text hard to read.

When the subject comes up, the general response seems to be to point at the search button (with the implication that you, the idiot user, should have searched through the entire forum and found all the other messages complaining about the grey text) or to post a bunch of URLs pointing to other messages complaining about the grey text.

What is pretty much 100% missing is the slightest interest in making the site easier to read. There's some speculation that it has something to do with the fact that the site designer uses a Mac, but I've looked at it on Macs and PCs and it makes no difference. The text is grey because they like it that way, and the rest of us can go eat worms.

I find the whole "the designer uses a Mac" line of reasoning quite unreasonable. I'm viewing this site on a Mac, and the contrast seems quite normal.

Moreover, the sample "Adblock Settings" dialog on the page is definitely not from a Mac — it is from Windows XP.

It is clear that rue, for reasons we may never fully understand, deliberately modified the contrast of the images on the page as well as the text (the page contains nearly 30 lines of CSS that specifically set the text and link colors to be washed out). He may or may not be amenable to someone's offering a bit of javascript to load a different stylesheet for those of us who happen to prefer higher contrast text.
