Adblock hiding instead of removing ads?

Yeah I've been noticing this with the new build. Instead of removing the ad, adblock hides them. LIke when the site loads up, the banner space will load up and then hide. I alreayd check my options and I have it set on remove. Not only that but I can't seem to block certain ads.

For example I will have an ad link blocked but it will still show up as text and wont go away. Same with hyperlinks. They will show up blocked but still apear.

what can I do to fix some of these?
