Recently I stumbled about an extension called "Rip (Remove it Permanently)" which also can remove Ads and other Content from Websites. Though I haven't tested it thoroughly, it seems to work well.

The blocking is more Site-specific than in Adblock, and the blocking can be done by right-clicking on the Content (like in "Nuke Anything"), instead of the list in Adblock, which both have their own Advantages.

Though I think it isn't a replacement for Adblock, both complement well

I use RIP and another called URIid, as these both compliment AdBlock (with Filterset.G). Very Happy

I discovered RIP yesterday. It has it's uses, but it has 2 big flaws: 1) when blocking remote content such as images, it merely hides them. 2) It doesn't hide elements until they've been fully rendered.
The first flaw prevents RIP from working well on it's own, but it still works well as a backup for adblock. (Use adblock to block the images, scripts, etc, then use RIP to hide the things adblock can't intercept.)
What I don't understand about the second flaw is why RIP has to wiat until the element is rendered, but usercontent (which also hides the stuff, but doesn't have a convenient interface) blocks it before it's rendered.

Ohh, I like it! On the down side, now I have to learn XPath and I haven't found a really goot tutorial yet. this one is nice, but it leaves too many holes.
