ive found that sometimes deinstalling will completely disable the browser
it will load up but display no pages, wont display bookmarks, nothing
its simply remedied by downloading firebird again and deleting the old programs directory and putting in the new one
this only seems to happen sometimes
just happened while deinstalling 28

Are you sure you waited long enough?- if the routine encounters any trouble, it waits up to two minutes (allowance for a theoretically slow filesystem), and then throws an alert.
.
In any event, I've re-linked the jar on the Dev. page -- users can manually update if they desire. Everyone who's upgrading to v.5 should certainly have done so by now.

You don't need to re-download and install Firebird. When it boots up frozen just close it and start it again and call up your bookmarks sidebar. This has happened twice to me and that is all I needed to do.
