I think i found a bug or something,
with the filter *ads.* i got a strange thing when visiting sourceforge sites, there's usually a google ad on the right of the screen, it got adblocked with the filter, but leaves me with a big black box where the ad was before...
I think it is because the background color of the page is black ans the ad cover the black with white, but i'm not sure... anyway, you might take a look..

(this is my project Smile )
If it don't do the trick to you I might take a screenshot...

kikidonk:
If you want the ad-space collapsed, open the prefs and uncheck "Fast Collapse".
.
There will be a noticeable reflow after pageload, which is why this isn't the default behaviour.

Those shots look right.
.
With FastCollapse checked, the empty spaces remain.
.
If you uncheck it, Adblock will try to collapse the space. When I tried your site -- FastCollapse disabled -- the space grew considerably smaller.

When AdBlock blocks an ad, I have white color background, which is fine.

But... area is still clickable, and I sometimes click by mistake.

I use Firebird, cannot see any prefs.
When in Tools // Options // Extensions // Adblock, the "Settings" button is disabled, and I can only disable whole extension.

How to collapse? Or if collapse is slow, is it possible to make blocked ad area some strange color, like light gray checkboard, where image ad was?

Thanks!

First, which version of Adblock did you install?
.
For v.5, the pref-window shortcut is: ctrl+shift+p. FastCollapse can be set here.
.
For all other versions, you need to manually deinstall, then grab latest build.
