Hi - I was wondering if there is a simple option to prevent "all" animated images from playing with adblock through firebird. I stumbled across the option -

user_pref("image.animation_mode", "none");

But haven't seen a way to set it through the config dialogs or plug-ins.

One of the more annoying things for me about all these banner ads is that they move, which distracts me from what I am reading.

Thanks -

I can only speak for moz1.3.1:

Preferences > Privacy & Security > Images > Animated images should loop
.
:: [As many times as the image specifies] [Once] [Never]

Thanks Rue. I just stumbled across the setting in the "preferential" extension which adds "advanced preferences" into firebird. I was just thinking it's kind of buried down there, and might be nice to have it setable via adblock. As far as I can tell (perhaps I'm wrong), just about the only common use for animated images appears to be advertisements. Anyway, I just wanted to bring up the idea.

Thanks again -

Oh- I thought that was the pref you wanted.
.
To answer your last question, no- Adblock will never set this. Our goal is to keep things clean and simple. Adding preferences is a step in the wrong direction.
